Medikro^® SpiroSafe disposable flow transducer is a disposable pneumotach. Every single SpiroSafe flow transducer is individually verified for accuracy, enabling best spirometry results.

SpiroSafe is designed to improve performance of the spirometer and safety of spirometry tests. Using SpiroSafe is cost effective and ecological. With SpiroSafe there is no need to use bacteria filters or additional cardboard mouthpieces. SpiroSafe helps to protect the environment producing up to 78% less waste than standard bacteria filters.

In centers where multiple tests are performed, the efficient use of time and financial resources is important. Consequently Medikro designed a simple locking mechanism (Medikro “Twist-to-Connect (TtC”) which makes attaching and removing the SpiroSafe flow transducer easy and fast, while at the same time enabling a reliable and secure connection.

A unique feature of SpiroSafe is that it will eliminate patient to patient contamination, because it is designed as a single patient device. Medikro® SpiroSafe disposable flow transducers reduce the cross-contamination risk, and provide reliable protection. SpiroSafe also protects the spirometry device, since none of the exhaled air penetrates the device.

Medikro’s single use flow transducer SpiroSafe can be changed in a matter of seconds, making sure that the whole system is clean and ready for the next patient. No sterilization is required, no bacteria filters are required – SpiroSafe saves money which would otherwise be consumed by the sterilization (cleaning detergents plus workforce and time) process.

SpiroSafe is made from polyethylene material, which ensures that the flow transducer can be disposed by incineration without generating toxic emissions.
